Mark Twain i nowelka o teściowej
Mark Twain and a short story about mother-in-law

I haven’t shared any riddles related to the life of Mark Twain here for quite a long time. Today I decided to „fix” it because I managed to find an interesting story from the biography of this writer.
When Twain’s mother-in-law’s birthday neared, he wrote a short story about her. In this work, he compared a woman with a daily newspaper. The writer’s spouse was surprised by that, which was understandable, and she asked him about the reason for this designation. The answer to her question was short and witty. Can you guess where the idea came from to his head from?

Answer

Twain answered his wife with a question: „Does your mother not appear at our place every day?”
