Slender Man (z ang. smukły mężczyzna) – miejska legenda traktująca o tajemniczej postaci pojawiającej się niespodziewanie i budzącej przerażenie wśród dzieci lub ujawniającej się na zdjęciach. Znany jest również pod pseudonimem Slender.
Opisuje się go jako szczupłą wysoką osobę noszącą czarny garnitur. Nosi również białą koszulę z czerwonym krawatem. Ma nieokreślone rysy twarzy (często przedstawia się go jako człowieka bez twarzy w ogóle – w miejscu gdzie powinna być twarz, jest po prostu gładka skóra). Przedstawiany jest jako bardzo chuda i wysoka (3 – 4 m wzrostu) postać, zdolna do rozciągnięcia swoich kończyn do długości niemożliwej dla normalnego człowieka. Na niektórych obrazkach przedstawiany jest również z mackami wyrastającymi z pleców. Gdy wyciąga swoje ramiona, jego ofiary są wprowadzane w stan przypominający hipnozę, podczas której podchodzą do tej istoty wbrew swej woli.
Wierzący w Slender Mana mówią, iż zamieszkuje on tylko wielkie lasy z dużą ilością mgły i chmur co sprzyja jego kamuflażowi. Rzekomo porywa on dzieci, które bez wiedzy i pozwolenia rodziców weszły do lasu. Miałby je gonić do skutku lub też do momentu, kiedy zawrócą i powiedzą rodzicom, co zrobiły. Slender Man – an urban legend discussing the mysterious figure appearing suddenly and arousing horror among children or manifesting itself in the pictures. It is also known under the pseudonym of Slender.
He is described as a slim person wearing high black suit. He also wears a white shirt with a red tie. He has a vague facial features (often portrayed as a man with no face at all – in the place where the face should be, there is only smooth skin). He is presented as a very thin and high (3 – 4 m tall) figure, able to stretch its limbs to the length impossible for a normal person. In some of the pictures he is presented also with tentacles sprouting from his back. When he pulls his arms out, his victims are put into a state resembling hypnosis, during which they approach the creature against their will.
Believers in Slender Man say that he lives only in the great forests with lots of fog and clouds which favors his camouflage. He allegedly kidnaps children who came into the forest without the knowledge and permission of their parents. He would chase them up to the effect or until they turn back and tell their parents what they did. He is also the protagonist of the Slender game.
